“Well…” as he spoke, Percy flipped through a magazine in search of the horoscopes, “A lot of people believe that your zodiac sign can reveal things. “I don’t think I have one,” Calypso replied, “Scorpio, Sagittarius and the rest of them… they weren’t in the sky when I was born,” And then Percy learned something about his girlfriend. It was fun, flipping through the pages, introducing celebrities and shows. Tonight, they sat in Percy’s apartment, magazines strewn over the kitchen table between them. It was their favourite kind of date, where Percy and Calypso would pick an aspect of the modern world and wander through all the things you missed while trapped on a magic island. The same people i've mentioned in my previous heroes of olympus reviews on the other hand, leo's resurrection undermines his heroic sacrifice of defeating gaia. i'll just say that these two have great chemistry. on the one hand, i'm glad that he got back to calypso again. I have mixed feelings about leo's resurrection at the end of the book. however, aphrodite's response didn't leave me satisfied.

I still don't have a sound conclusion on a big question in the series: why must the gods rely on mortals? piper did pose that question.

however, i had a discussion with a friend about the series they said i should read the trials of apollo. i thought this would be more plot-relevant. Until frank mentioned it, i forgot he had a piece of lifeline firewood. props to rick riordan for making me despise him. both of them want to give lesser-known gods more recognition and are the "heroes" of their respective series. i didn't remember nico interacting with will that much when i first read the book i was happy to be proven wrong. It's nice to see how nico and will's relationship started. now, i can definitely get why nico is a relatable character seriously, that boy needs some happiness in his life i'm sure readers will rush to protect nico at all costs. across the book, nico learns to trust people more. Honestly, nico went through so much development in this story. i also like her added backstory and arc in this book, even though she isn't one of the 7. that alongside being a praetor makes her one of the most badass characters in the series. Reyna's power is so cool and extremely useful. there were some moments where i thought nico and reyna's story was more interesting. I love the inclusion of POVs outside the main 7 demigods. I haven't read the trials of apollo yet so please DO NOT spoil it for me 🙏 unless trials of apollo is not the last series in the greek/roman riordanverse, i wonder how well this kind of ending will work for the tower of nero. it works because it transitions well to another series. I have noticed that the last olympian and this book have relatively open-ended and "soft" endings. the book was action-packed and had 2 solid battles as finales. Refer to this same section on the lost hero book review meanwhile, nico, reyna and coach hedge must deliver the athena parthenos statue to camp half blood, hoping to unite the camps against gaia's forces. they must go to athens to defeat the giants and prevent gaia from waking. The 7 demigods of the prophecy are now on their final part of their quest. THE BLOOD OF OLYMPUS BOOK REVIEW *SPOILER ALERT*
